About this piece

Sterling Silver Fossilized Wing of the Morpho Butterfly, available as a single wing or a matching double-wing pair. Its replication of the blue structural color of the morpho butterfly can be seen in the videos, however so far in Haft’s experiments this blue is only replicated in camera footage when under brilliant white LED bulbs not yet visible to the naked eye.

A real Morpho butterfly specimen, fossilized in solid sterling silver through Haft’s lost organic casting process. The metal takes the place of the original, so every vein, scale line and edge of the wing is preserved exactly as nature made it.

Finished by hand, this is a one-of-one piece: because each wing is a unique specimen, no two Meta of Haft pieces will ever be the same.

Production & shipping

Made to order. Your piece is cast, engraved and finished after you order. Allow approximately 4–5 weeks before it ships.

Every parcel is insured and tracked, and you receive tracking the moment it ships. Shipping rates and destinations are shown at checkout before you pay. Outside the United States, import duties and taxes are the collector’s responsibility unless checkout states otherwise.
Care for your patina

Patinas are a hand-applied surface finish. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth, and avoid silver dips, polishing cloths and harsh chemicals on the coloured areas. Take it off before swimming or showering, and store it on its own so it isn’t scratched.
