About this piece

Sterling Silver Fossilized Butterfly Wing Dangling Earrings of the Idea Idea Butterfly’s Front Wings. 

A real Idea idea (paper kite) butterfly specimen, fossilized in solid sterling silver through Haft’s lost organic casting process. The metal takes the place of the original, so every vein, scale line and edge of the wing is preserved exactly as nature made it.

Finished by hand, this is a one-of-one piece: because each wing is a unique specimen, no two Meta of Haft pieces will ever be the same.

Every parcel is insured and tracked, and you receive tracking the moment it ships. Shipping rates and destinations are shown at checkout before you pay. Outside the United States, import duties and taxes are the collector’s responsibility unless checkout states otherwise.
Care for your patina

Patinas are a hand-applied surface finish. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth, and avoid silver dips, polishing cloths and harsh chemicals on the coloured areas. Take it off before swimming or showering, and store it on its own so it isn’t scratched.
Settings & custom orders

The Statement Morpho Wing pieces can be made as a brooch, earring or pendant. Choose your setting from the menu on that piece’s page before adding to cart. For any other setting, request a custom order and the studio will follow up.

Because every piece is handmade to order, it becomes final sale once production begins. Damaged, defective or incorrect orders are always protected: contact the studio within seven days of delivery with your order number and photos and we will make it right.

What are the pieces made from?
